Weekly Round-Up

By Celia Barbosa

July 7, 2023

Welcome to our weekly Artfora Round-Up, where we bring you the latest happenings in the world of art and technology and all things Artfora!

Hi Artfora Fam! This Round-up we’re all about celebrating our Plotworks launch and the new art that arrived on our platform! Let’s check the news!

Artfora Plotworks: A materialization tool for plottable works!

We’re happy to announce that Plotworks is live! Leveraging our redemption platform and plotting studio, artists can create 1/1 plots, ensuring that only one official plot can ever exist. Each plot is uniquely crafted in our studio and paired with an NFT on the blockchain!

Artfora Plotworks is a bespoke service, we work closely with artists to bring their artistic visions to life as fine-art quality pen plots! Artists have full control over the physical parameters of their plots. Choose your paper size, pens, inks, and the price for the plot!

For collectors, Plotworks makes the redemption process easy and safe, to verify you own the NFT, pay plotting and shipping fees, and redeem!

The Plotworks Launch

Twitter Space and giveaways!

To celebrate our launch, in collaboration with Bart Simons and Plottables, we hosted a twitter space to discuss plotter art, community, and more! We also had a series of giveaways for our Artfora community to have a chance to win an original Bart Simons’ NFT and physical plot!

Two lucky followers, one on Instagram and the other on Twitter, participated in our weeklong raffle and received the minted NFT in their wallets! They also received a voucher to redeem the physical plot directly from our plotter studio!

Live-Plotting Session and one more lucky winner!

To complete our launch week, Artfora hosted a live plotting and AMA session (Ask Me Anything) with the founders of the company Michael Assis and Uri Seroussi! During the session, our participants were able to ask all things plotter art and learn a bit more about the journey of creating Artfora and our services!

At the end of the session, we hosted one final giveaway where one of the participants of our live session got a Bart Simons’ NFT and the physical plot we were plotting live!

Collection Insights

“Stroomlijn” by Bart Simons

In the series called “Stroomlijn“, through challenge and experimentation, Bart Simons (@unordered.list) pushes the boundaries of plottable art! He creates a sense of cohesiveness while still offering a touch of unpredictability in a delicate balance that adds depth to the work.

Simons’ artistic practice is a continuum, an ongoing progression transcending individual collections. The journey is not confined to isolated creations but rather a cohesive body of work that evolves over time.

This work is a culmination of his two-year exploration of plotter art. It represents a significant accomplishment, as it seamlessly merges his vision with his evolution of plotting techniques.

Bart also intentionally incorporates deliberate brokenness, such as patterns breaking outside the boundaries, discontinued lines, and incomplete drawings. All elements are used to construct Bart’s unique visual language that blends geometry and movement.

Draftwerk by Anna Beller & Alejandro Campos

The collection by @Anna___Beller and @ratchitect is a captivating collaboration that explores the fusion of generative and intuitive art, blurring the lines between the digital and physical worlds, as well as the realms of robotics and human creativity. The creative journey of Alejandro and Anna encompasses coding, digital curation, pen-plotting, physical taping, and spraying, forming a dynamic interplay between artists and machines that delves into the realm of vectors. Alejandro’s generative algorithm and vector arrangement curation tool establishes a foundation of hatches and rectangles on an underlying grid. Anna then selects 53 iterations, meticulously refining the details, which Alejandro translates onto paper, setting the stage for the next phase. By connecting the vectors’ start and end points in preset steps, Anna seamlessly merges the digital and physical, resulting in an extraordinary painting born from the arrangement of vectors. The remarkable aspect lies in the dance between generative algorithms and Anna’s intuition, where her responses to the algorithm guide its completion. This captivating interplay exists within the In-between Realm, the narrow borderline where subjectivity and objectivity converge. “Draftwerk” invites contemplation of the delicate balance between the digital and physical, showcasing the beauty that emerges when human and machine creativity intertwines. Explore this harmonious coexistence of subjectivity and objectivity at our website!
